I have a Dane-Elec So Speaky PVR - which is based on noontec GV-3712 board. Has AV-in for recording, etc. I also have a Cyclone MKV V1, which I recently upgraded with Mvix Ultio firmware as I was experiencing playback problems with the original Sumvision firmware. The Dane-Elec firmware is very poor by comparison - and refuses to play quite a few avi formats, so I was hoping to upgrade. I thought I might have some luck with the Mvix Ultio Pro firmware, as the form-factor, front and rear panels and features are virtually identical to the Dan-Elec. Unfortunately no go. The Dan-Elec firmware appears to be an unpacked install.img - there is an installa, videofirmware.bin etc.

But it was still no-go. So I'm assuming either the board version won't take the firmware or Dan-Elec built in some other logic into the upgrade process. I'd really love to get some new features onto the Dan-Elec - anyone got any insights into compatible firmwares for this device?
