Daz3d Michael Genesis
I found these images on the Genesis 3 page. Looks like they are Michael 7!
Now your favorite outfits for Generation 4 are coming to Genesis 8 Males and Females! Not only do you get Victoria 4 and Michael 4 clones for BOTH Genesis 8. Does Michael 4 not work with Genesis 2 male? I haven't used DAz in a while. Post edited by Pixel8ted on April 2017. After what feels like a decade since the release of Victoria 6 and Genesis 2 Female we finally have Michael 6 and Genesis 2 Male. Join me for the full epic review!

I saw that one already. Honestly I hope it's not G3M:P I am very convinced they are G2M (looking at all the areas that annoy me about the figure (the exaggerated base shoulder width, the elongated pecs so oddly shaped and way too defined. The flat face and lack of cheeks, shoulder/armpit bend issues.
Things I spend way too much effort and get frustrated trying to fix all the time:lol: )) the Female I also believe is G2F. If it is the base G3M, then it has all the flaws that I hoped would get fixed XD I wouldn't be thrilled if it was a repeat lol But really IMO if G3M is up to G3F standards, I'm certain it'll be fantastic figure, they did excellent work her:). If DAZ is hoping to reach a broader professional market with the Genesis 3s then they will need to change their marketing and that means G3M and Michael 7 had better show up soon and not DAZ soon. They are not. Professionals are professionals and don't use assets like this.
They use models based of actual humans, scans that are Build-Unics, not Negative-morphing, which NEVER works. You can't UNDO compound complex forms back into base-forms. (Deflate a surface into a flat-surface, using simple reverse-form decompression.) You can, however, use complex form inflation to create any complex form, from a flat base form, and just undo THAT to get back to the base-form. However, these are sculpted objects that are sculpted form comical-exaggerated forms of what an artist thinks a human looks like.
Without retaining the 'strokes' that formed the flat-bases into the complex shapes, there is no way possible to calculate all the fractional sub-components that led to those deformations. EG, you can't undo abs and breasts and shoulders, to get 'undefined' forms. However, you can easily take a UNIC undefined form and form it into any 'defined' form, as long as there is enough original polygons or adaptive polygons to handle the 'positive construction modification'.
That is where daz's biggest issue lies. They try to cheat the issue by using smoothing and code to detect those issues, but it detects and smooths the non-issues in the process, leaving us with California-raisin models when we attempt to 'get normal or reduced breasts' as it tries to UNDO the 40+ curved surfaces that formed it, with one curved globe and irons to hammer-out the wrinkles, which leaves raisin-waves of deformities. Same with face components. They should have a generic head, with NO form other than the overall minimum faceless shape. Then all 'protrusions' and 'sink-holes' should be the modifications, which can all be done more or less, to get the desired target.
Instead of building a form that has too much detail to start-off with, and trying to expand or undo that form. All these years of morphing, and this is still an issue. We need 1 core per version. (That contains the 'technology' not the form, other than the most basic 'minimum'. Which honestly should be a newborn form, as all life DEVELOPS into the adult form, and elder form, from that base. You can't undo an adult to reduce years of refinement by simple negative-modifiers, but you can keep adding modifiers to simulate age growth and refinement.) Since they don't do that, we end-up with ten core models by them, and 100 by others, and little support beyond each new creation/version.
But the deforming modifications keep stacking. With that one model, none of that would ever be an issue. The only issue would be, more detail, and we can do that now, easily. We can't remove detail easily, without severe issues resulting.
I find it funny that M6 is a better model than V6. They should make the men first, because the second one they make, of the two, in every set, is better. Like they learned something, then didn't reproduce that issue in the paired late-model. I am just waiting for bone-linking, so we can get real articulation that actually simulates real bones and motion. True ball-joints with pop-out, like bones do. Saddle-joints for knees and thumbs and elbows.
And dual-bone 'twisting' rotation, as fore-arms and lower legs doo. Oh, and real spine movement, complete with realistic operating rib-flexing, not tin-can bending and two-bone spines. (Well, five partial spine segments.) Oh, and muscle-flex, and per-axis weight-mapping, and bump-linked flex-mods. To simulate things like fist-flesh expanding and contracting where there are no bones in the hands and feet, wrist-tendons, foot-tendons, arm-pits, eye-folds that are not so 3D-exaggerated, forehead wrinkles, dimples we can move around the flesh, knuckle and elbow wrinkles that only adults and elders have exaggerated.) Just a few things.
I think those are the Eddie textures converted to iRay but it's hard for me to say when you have blemishless textures. They've done really good but they should of left him looking more like the G7M Eddie, that render looks sort of similar to M8 that it might hurt sales of M8. I just checked and, to me, the base Genesis 8 Male's mats definitely look like Michael 7's mats (with a few minor modifications). Here's the base G8M with the base textures he comes with (with my shader settings): Here he is with Michael 7's textures (with my shader settings): As you can see in the second one the nipples are off slightly because Michael 7's textures use a different UV. I think those are the Eddie textures converted to iRay but it's hard for me to say when you have blemishless textures.

Well no wonder Michael 8 & Michael 7 look alike. It's not Michael 8 - it's the just the base G8M.:) I've not purchased Michael 8 yet so I can't do any renders of him. But I hope to talk the hubby into letting me get him.
He's looking pretty good, IMO. I think he might using Micheal 7's skin textures (like Genesis 8 Female uses Karen 7's textures). I haven't decided if I'm going to get Michael 8 or not, yet (I think I will) but so far I'm having fun with the base Genesis 8 Male.:) I agree he looks great and I love that look he has of femininity, IMO best looking Micheal ever, which matches that warrior androgynous look v8 has. I really need to get these characters to work in animation.
I have so many role reversal Ideas for these characters would be perfect in. Not been round these parts for ages, but, have been sort of keeping up with Daz via emails and FB.
That said, I don't recall there having been any big announcements that G8 had come out. I got an email moments ago that said Michael 8 (Or Mate if you follow him as M8!) had been released.
It was only from that that I surmised that G8M was out. Battlefield bad company 2. You'd think that a new Genesis would be big news, but apparently not.
Do bear in mind though that I probably haven't been on these forums since 2015 so maybe I missed something! G8M was only released this morning. I'm disappointed that M8 looks so much like M7. Which I'm not that fond of to be honest. I will have to download G8M later and see if he looks as girly as G3M does. (not there is anything wrong with that, just not really my taste). Maybe should stick with character designs like the first genesis was, where we can just blend all the morphi with either male or female characters.
It made transformations from humen to animal much easier genesis in my IMO was great just for that reason Genesis is quite versatile in that respect for sure. I'm not complaining, I'm sure that many people will enjoy him.
Poser Genesis 3
So far, my favorite generation of males is G2M, so I will just move them up to G8M and go from there. Also, I do have some G3M's that I quite like, I just had to wait a bit for them to come out.
